Research on the experiences of Indigenous scholars.

NCIS conducts and supports research that deepens understanding of the experiences of Indigenous faculty across Canadian universities. Our studies foreground Indigenous voices, community protocols, and knowledge systems—producing evidence-based recommendations that inform institutional change.

Research areas include career pathways for Indigenous scholars, kinship mentorship, decolonizing pedagogies, and the systemic conditions that shape Indigenous scholarly identity and success in the academy.
